This vintage has been produced
from grapes which were handpicked by family members from
the slopes of "Lapoinya" Oberon Plateau. Edge
of the Blue Mountains
N.S.W.
This wine has been produced using tradition Burgundian
techniques and exhibits the
typical warm colour and unique character of the variety. Carbonic maceration,
hot,
whole bunch fermentation and old French oak maturation provide the wine with
great
depth and the intriguing aromas of forest undergrowth, sour cherry, chestnut
and
chocolate. The palate is rich and velvety with cherry flavours dominant,
good length
and balance and an intensity suggesting longevity. It would best served accompanied by
roast meats and will cellar confidently for ten years.
